The Dil Raj Restaurant. 6 Ock Street. 01235 553305 / 524722

A sizeable establishment with a frontage that hides the real depth and size of this restaurant, based opposite the old chapel in the 'The Square' (not to be confused with the 'Market Place') in the building that used to house 'Holmes' the Bakers some years ago.

A quite enormous menu and reportoire, which always delivers unfaltering perfection with every visit. By far the best chutney dish in town with five excellent flavours available. Main course dishes range from one end of the heat scale to the other but in a way that never sacrifices the flavour at all and should there be something you want that is'nt on the menu then (within reason) just ask.

The staff are always very polite, service is always prompt and should you become a regular you will be accepted as part of the Dil Raj family and thus a whole new world of delights will become available to you. Draught beers include Tetley and Lal-Toofan with Bangla available bottled as well.

This is by far the best Indian restaurant in Abingdon.
